Internet

internetIt is hard to imagine a world without the internet, and yet it was really not so long ago that few of us had heard of it, or even considered the concept as anything more than a science fiction author’s dream. But in a very short period of time we have gone from the internet being a dream, to a reality, and now it is something which we happily accept with little question. In fact, the more we find the internet integrated into our everyday lives, the more demanding we are all becoming.

As if internet access itself was not astonishing enough, placing the world’s information at our fingertips, we constantly strive to achieve greater bandwidth, greater reliability, increased portability and wireless mobility, and a more accurate way to search through the billions of web pages and documents available.

We have so quickly embraced internet technology that the existing infrastructure is now bloated with unorganised, un-moderated information, and it seems apparent that the next step is to consider how to take this technology and create a solution which manages to combine the best aspects of freedom of speech and personal publication with some form of organised solution that enables us to increase the speed not just of access, but of successful extrapolation of relevant data.
